Phew. It feels like this one is a little overdue. Almost 10 days have passed since posting the previous part.

A bunch of time was lost to other things, which of course slowed down these pages, but it was also a lot of work to make them. More than usual. Page 4 contains no less than 22 persons (partial or full, close or distant), while a normal comic page contains maybe 5 to 8 persons averagely. I spent also a huge amount of my concentration on the decor. Something most people will probably skip in a few seconds because the story carries on. Anyway, I wanted to set the atmosphere well, and this is in fact the FIRST TIME I have drawn a mansion. Well... any earlier attempts if there have been were really really poorly done. :P

To be able to draw the mansion (outside) I used a reference picture, because I just can't make a magnificent looking house like that without some reference - I'm not an architect. This is not an exact copy of the material I found, just used it as guide and for some ideas. The angels on the gate (outside) are done with a reference picture as well. A few days before drawing this I happened upon a photo in a local 'newspaper' where one of these lovely angels was shown. The sculpture was a lot smaller and sitting in front of a mirror, in some kind of garden in Suolahti if I'm not mistaken. I thought it was so cute so I did my own rendition of it. All other statues are done without references, as is the ballroom.

Detail is the hardest part to any comics. I can't wait to see the next part.

Yes. That is true. And there are several problems with that. Not only does it take a lot of extra work to draw the details... since there's multiple panels with (usually) the same scene, it has to be repeated, be somewhat consistent, AND often drawn from different angles. I avoided all that, mostly, for keeping my sanity. Characters are all the time standing in front of part of the scene too and to do them well I need to do some sketching first. It becomes harder when technically the background should be drawn/sketched first and THEN characters in front of it, all of which needs erasing too for the final product (anyway the way that I'm working right now).

But I did like to put in some extra 'eye candy' on the background to show a bit of the atmosphere.

I know what you're thinking. You may be surprised.

No more pages are going to be posted today. I've been a bit busy and distracted last week, that's why these pages have been a little 'late'. Also, a lot of work/detail went into these, which required extra time.

Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about your idea. It'll be there before the end.

This chapter has reached it's 1/3rd point now by the way (it's considerably shorter than chapter 12) so you should have to wait *too* long. haha
